Construction has been completed for the new LeBreton STEM Hub at St Brendan’s College, Yeppoon.
The new facility is home to Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM) learning at the school, featuring wet & dry science labs, a large internal court, and a flexible learning area / lecture theatre.
The building connects into the existing LeBreton building through a new upper level walkway. The existing building has also been refurbished on the upper level to form 4 new classrooms with 2 shared breakout rooms.
The project at St Brendan’s College is an interesting example of how educational spaces can be designed around practical learning and STEM activities. It’s useful to see the completed building rather than only the plans, as this gives a better idea of how the different spaces come together.
